Bike sharing economy
Directions: To rent a bike in China, all it takes is a phone app, and any of the millions of bicycles scattered on sidewalks everywhere can be yours. No bike stand. No drop-off point. You scan a code, you ride, and you leave and lock the bike wherever and whenever you’re done.
China’s billion-dollar bike-sharing revolution has already transformed the look and feel of cities around the country, with more than 100 million apps downloaded and billions of rides taken on many millions of bikes.
This booming sharing economy is aiming to improve users' experience and ease the urban traffic pressure. And there are environmental benefits, too: renting a bike rather than taking buses or driving a car, means fewer vehicles are required and fewer resources must be devoted to making or supporting them.
Do you agree or disagree that the development of the bike sharing economy a positive trend?

The Internet: Enclosing or opening up the world?
Directions: If you still think of the internet as a means of opening up a vast world of information to people, you may be completely wrong. Playing a positive role in its early days, the Internet is now enclosing people in a walled room.
Have you ever noticed that when different people google the same thing, for example, "Chinese culture" or "America", they get different search results? Websites selectively guess which information is appropriate to a user based on his/her location, past-click behavior and search history, and tailor information and recommendations accordingly. The more one uses the internet, the more likely one is kept away from different opinions, and trapped in one's own cultural ideological bubble. The situation worsens when Internet-boosted social networks creep into every corner of our lives. Although there seems to be a large amount of information updated almost every second, the information is only available from people's friend-circles or the subscriptions(公众号) they choose. Beyond these circles and choices, people do not really have access to the unknown. They become imprisoned in a confined world.

Is the development of artificial intelligence a positive or negative development?
Directions: Liang Shuming, a Chinese philosopher who spent 70 years of his life seeking an answer to this question, held the belief that the world would get better every day. However, as the fast development of modern society has brought unprecedented challenges to mankind, this lingering question continues to provoke deep thought, reflection, doubt or even fear. For example, Igor Morski, a Polish graphic designer, has created a series of pictures depicting some of the lurking prblems in today's world that will endanger rather than improve people's lives. Hawking told the BBC, "The primitive forms of artificial intelligence we already have, have proved very useful. But I think the development of full artificial intelligence could spell the end of the human race." What is your answer to this question? Write an essay with your own title, clearly stating your opinion and supporting your ideas with reasons and examples. You should write about 500 words.

Living to Work or Working to Live
Directions: Live to Work: Certain people, it is said, live to work. This is shorthand for saying that their lives center on their work or careers, and that achievement in their professions is a major source of satisfaction and meaning in their lives. Money may or may not be a major motivation for these people. In some cases, achieving huge levels of pay (as is the case with many senior corporate executives, such as CEOs) is coveted more as a means of keeping score and proving your relative worth versus other people, than it is for the money itself.
Work to Live: By contrast, other people work to live. These people view their work or careers largely as toil whose purpose is to earn a living. Their real interests lie elsewhere, and their work or careers are only means to an end, not an end in itself. Some of these people try to cut corners, to gain the maximum pay for the minimum amount of effort. Others do indeed take great pride in their work, and put great effort in doing their jobs well, but their jobs simply are not the centers of their lives.
It is critical to understand whether you are fundamentally a live to work or a work to live type person. This will allow you to develop realistic expectations about yourself, and to choose career paths and employers accordingly. Are you a live-to-work or a work-to-live type person? Please take your side and write an argumentative(议论文) of at least 120 words to support your standpoint.
